Be on time to class- it is important that you enter the room at the appropriate time. When you are late, it not only affects you, it interrupts the learning of others.
Be respectful to the teacher, your peers, and yourself- this classroom is a judgement free zone where every student should feel comfortable.
Always bring your textbook, binder, paper, and a writing utensil to class- if you fail to bring all the required materials to class, it could affect your ability to participate and learn. If you have to leave the room to retrieve materials, it will also affect others.
Talk quietly and walk at all times in the classroom- This to ensure the safety and respect of all students in the classroom.
Follow directions- directions are created to ensure the optimal learning and safety of each student. If you fail to comply, you could put someone's life or learning in danger.
Consequences
The first offense will receive a verbal warning.
Upon the second offense of the same rule, the student will be assigned to write the honor code 5 times, and call home will occur.
After the third offense is committed, the student will be removed from the situation, assigned detention, and a call home will occur.
If a fourth offense occurs, ISS will be assigned and the parents will be contacted.
If a fifth offense occurs, the student will be sent to the principal’s office.
Rewards
Class points- when 100% attendance is recorded for a day, a point will be awarded for the entire class. At the end of the 9 weeks, if the class reaches 50 points there will be a reward (which is decided on by the class).
Accumulation Jar- When the entire class is quiet and ready to learn (with all materials out), a quarter will be added to the Pint Mason Jar at the front of the class. When the quarters reach the top line on the jar, the quarters will be used to buy a reward for the class.
Class Currency- when an individual student has exemplary behavior, he/she will receive a ticket. The tickets can be turned in exchange for a bathroom pass, homework pass, class point/ quarter in the jar.
